Task 7

I created a simple manipulation image using rocks and stones from other images and placing them into the main image. This was made by using brightness and contrast, blur tool and the lasso tool. This is an early image and I would want to make vector style images.

This is a scene I created for the ending of each level. I went into Photoshop and painted this scene using a graphics tablet.

These are more recent level creations for my game. This is how I want my game to look as it have a cartoon feel but it hold the realistic look I also wanted for my game.

Today we did a tutorial on how to turn a day time image into a night time scene. Firstly, we took an image into Photoshop.

When we had our image into Photoshop, we duplicated the image. We then went to filter, render and chose lens flare and moved it into the top right corner.
Next we used the pen tool to outline the area where the orange and blue circles where, selected them and deleted it.

After we deleted the orange and blue highlights, we then made a selection from the lens flare to the bottom left, which was wider than the top. We then went to select inverse and lowered the brightness and contrast. We then deselected the highlighted area.
Next, we went to image, adjustments and chose photo filter. We chose the cooling filter (82), with a density of 70. 
After we inserted the photo filter, we added a new layer and added clouds, adjusted its brightness and contrast.
We then lowered the opacity to reveal the ruin.
Next, we went to filter, blur and chose Gaussian blur to make the clouds look misty with a radius of around seventy seven.

After we added the Gaussian blur, we went to transform and stretched the clouds to make it look more like mist.
We used a layer mask to make it look more realistic and not so covered.

 Then we went and filled a new layer black. Went to filter, render and fibres to make a rain effect.
Then we changed the angle and the opacity to make it look like rain.


Night scene
Firstly, we filled the background with black and used the pen tool to cut out the house from an image.
After this, we then duplicated the image and flipped it horizontally to create one big building.
We then went to hue and saturation to make the image darker. Next, we got an image of a moon and edited it in layer style. we added an outer glow and experimented with the setting to get a look we wanted.

after we added the moon, we inserted a clouds image and lowered the levels and adjusted the hue and saturation further.
We then used the original clouds image to create a brush so we could create smoke from the chimney. I also lighted used the brush tool to create some glow from the windows.

Floating island

With this image we took a root ball image and cut it out.  
We then re-used the house image from the previous demo and transformed it so it could sit on top of the root ball.
Next, we used the clone tool on a set of tree images to add bushes and trees to the foreground of the house.
After this, we moved it into a lake image. Here we used the burn tool on the root ball and increased the hue and saturation on both the island and lake. I then duplicated the island image and transformed it so it looked like it was reflecting onto the water.

After finishing the first part of the tutorial, we moved onto create more for the image.
firstly we took an image of the a tree trunk and worked in the channels. We added an alpha channel and used the lasso tool and went around the tree trunk. After this we then saved the selection as an alpha channel. We then made all of the channel layers visible. This creates a red layer where you can use the brush tool to edit how much is shown. We then loaded the selection, inversed the selection and deleted the red area.       
Then we used a layer mask and placed a river image on top of the tree trunk.
Then we added some texture to make it look more like a cliff face and that water was falling, so it looked like a water fall.
Then we added the floating house we made before and added some clouds.
This is the final piece.
